Container Policies
We pride ourselves on reusing as much as possible, but there are a few things to be mindful of when bringing personal containers.
personal container dos and don’ts
-
We LOVE for customers to bring their own containers. You may bring any container (glass, plastic, aluminum). Just make sure:
Containers are clean and dry.
Containers have a lid or seal.
The Village Refillery is not liable for any contamination that may occur from filling into an unclean or wet container.
-
We welcome container donations and are proud to offer free containers so that our products may be more accessible to those with less, or so that folks can still refill even if they forgot their containers.
When making donations, please ensure:
Containers are rinsed out and free of remaining product, odors, &/or dyes.
Containers have a screw top lid, flip top, snap top, or turret cap. We CANNOT accept pump tops, treatment pumps, or atomizers (spray nozzles with straws).
Containers have integrity and are not damaged (no flimsy plastic water bottles please!).
We cannot accept containers if our donation library is full. Please call in advance of bringing donations to ensure we have space.
We reserve the right to decline any container on a case-by-case basis.
-
All containers in our donation library have been cleaned and sanitized by VR staff.
If you are bringing your own container to fill into, please handwash or dishwash the container/bottle and lid prior, then let dry completely.
If your container has a PUMP, SPRAY NOZZLE, or glass DROPPER, we DO NOT recommend washing this piece, as water will get trapped inside. Water-free products like our facial oil that come into contact with remaining water inside a container will grow mold. Instead, we recommend running several pumps of rubbing alcohol through your pump, sprayer, or dropper, then discarding the first 1-2 pumps of new product once container is refilled.
Your safety is our top priority! We appreciate your thoughtfulness when refilling with us!
